Robert Barbour

Data transformation director

Rob Barbour is the Data Transformation Director for Travis Perkins Plc; the UK’s largest distributor of building materials to the building, construction and home improvement markets, where he is responsible for data and the governance of it; from data foundations right through to data insights and building information modelling. The Group, which has helped to build Britain for the last 200 years, has a network of more than 2,000 branches and operates 20+ businesses across the UK in addition to owning 19 product brands within these businesses.

Rob left Northern Ireland after graduating in computer science. He then completed an MSc in Computational Methods and Imaging in Medicine at the University of Manchester, where he focused on software development/biophysics/medical imaging techniques. Rob joined Travis Perkins from Accenture, where he developed his fast-moving, data-focused career on large scale, global transformation projects across Asia, Europe, UK and Africa spanning a wide range of sectors, including Government, comms, high tech and banking.
